Aragon, your logic is flawed :P

Normally, when you kill a monster, exp isn't given by a text block at all. It's given right from the monster, from a 2-byte variable (maxes at 65k).

As MrBlack said, you can set a text block that gives exp on the monster's death, but this isn't the way monster exp is usually done. It'll allow you to give bonus exp (over the normal 65k), but since this isn't how monster exp is normally done, it won't divide it between the party. Each player will get the full bonus exp amount (whatever the text block is set to).

From what MrBlack said, it seems you can set it to only hit people who were in combat with the monster, which is good.

From what I have seen with textblocks on death of monsters, such as efreeti, you need to have been in combat sometime before the monster dies...I once received the text block from it, and I was dropped ;)

But, I don't know for sure you had to be in combat, you may simply just have to be in the room, shrug...
