BTRIEVE Error.. [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by paragon »

Just wondering if anyone knows why this might be happening.

I'm running 1.1g, with mod 8.

I have my working copy right now, and a backup from a week or so ago. I haven't changed anything with the databases in that week. If I go into LJN and edit a monster (I'm changing only the experience of adolescent dragon), and then 'create update DB', it gives me a btrieve error. Though if I do this same change on the old database, it works fine. Any thoughts?

Well, if that's the case, why does it work on the old database?

Well, I've tried a whole bunch of things now, and I still can't get it to work correctly. Anyone know what might be wrong, or what I have to change in order for this to work?

well, we can try unlinking majormud from the wg kernel to see if it's wg

or majormud. in the wg root dir is a program called wgsdmod.exe

run it and you will see two ansi boxes, the left one is the linked in moduals, I think, highlight majormud and press enter, this should move it into the other box, the right one, I think, do the same for the mmud plus modual too. now exit and try to run worldgroup again. if it loads ok, it's mmud, if it still don't load, you have other problems with worldgroup.

make sure both majormud moduals are over in the prolly empty box.

I don't get an error while starting WG at all.. it's when I'm trying to edit info into MMud... When I do a 'create update DB' it gives me that error.

try deleting the update file completely (or moving it) and then

compile an update... ljn uses the other dats to compile so it will

be fine without it... it could be flagged as read only or something
