so my nephew brought over his guitar hero this weekend. I gave him my old ps2 so his mom could go out and get the guitar hero game.

Pretty badass game. I almost thought about taking my ps2 back ;) j/k

I'm probably going to wait until december to buy a ps3 and get the rock band instead.

What do you guys think? Rock Band > Guitar Hero III?

Also I didnt do too bad. Played it for about half a day and I was one venue away from beating medium. (i did beat it on easy)

My question is how the hell do you use the orange button? Blue is fairly easy to grasp even though your hand gets sore as all hell by the time its said and done, but do you move your hand down everytime orange comes up or something?

Gotta be able to slide your hand up a notch.. gets easier the more you practice. I've beaten all modes for GH1, 2 and the Rock the 80s expansion.

Rock Band requires more gear to play, which equals more money. Looks fun tho.

I'll probably save up and get the PS3 as well. Kinda torn tho, 360 > PS3?

Yeah I looked at the xbox 360 one as well. But i dont know. If im going to go big i was thinking i may as well get the ps3. I am after all used to the ps2 controls and its backwards compatible with ps2 games so my nephew can bring his games up if he wants to.

$200+$550+tax is pretty pricey, but worth it to me if its actually a fun game. That and my wife is all into karaoke. anything I can do to get a little 'alone time' to fuck around on the computer is worth almost a grand.

Families that play together stay together :P

My ex and I used to play GH for hours, the only game besides the crappy Pogo / Yahoo-type games I could get her to play.

I play different than anyone else I play with... my pinky stays on orange and I play green with my index finger when it has to be played. I don't move my hand up or down, my fingers reach everything from that position. It's much easier to stretch my index/middle fingers up to green/red than it is to stretch my pinky down to orange. I was gonna get some songs together and do a "look at me look at me" youtube video tonight cause I was destroying songs yesterday. I can't WAIT for GH3, I SOOOOOOOOO want to play Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce. Check this shit out:

I'm certain I can pass it, and ohhh I wanna try. Thirty two more days.

So I hooked up guitar hero last night and played pretty much all night long.

I had to start from scratch again because all the saved data I had from the last time was on my nephews ps2. SO I did end up beating it on medium last night.

I gave HARD a try and I have to say WTF??? That 5th key throws me off BIG TIME. I try to move my hand down but the shit scrolls way to fast and I end up loosing my finger positioning. There has to be an easier way.

BTW xbox360 has WAY more songs than the ps2 which is pretty sweet. I must say free bird is my favorite so far.
