we changed rear ends on a ford ranger everything worked but the abs we disabled it. the 89 model had no abs. the truck functioned well, had no problems stopping. It is mainly a farm truck, but makes trips to town ocassionally with no problems. The only place abs could leak fluid on a mazda truck would at the master cylinder. The rear sensor is on the banjo housing at the ring gear. Unless you were leaking differential lube.

I didn't do the work on the brakes. The idiot who owned the truck before me did. An S-10 will make for a nice little truck. The parts will be cheap and dime-a-dozen. That'd probably be a good move on your part if you can get the trade. Lemme see those pics of the truck, I might be able to spread the word around a little for ya. Lemme know.

S-10 can't tow a 20+ foot boat tho, they're limited in what they can tow. So I'm lookin for a full size 6cyl Chev, or Dodge or a Diesel Chev/Dodge.
I'm also looking at a 1991 Dodge Ram 150 pickup that is dedicated propane powered. He blew the bottom end, so I'm gonna get it cheap. He's askin $800, I'll offer him $500. My Uncle has a 6cyl Dodge Dakota engine in his shop I can have for cheap.
