I can't find the thread were we discussing the teams at draft time. Can I start a new one here?
All week long, I have been watching the clip of Trent Green"s noggin smacking off the ground. Damn that was a hard hit! When you watch it in slow-mo, it is quite clear his head is moving xxx times faster than his body. His necked snapped so hard, I am glad he wasn't paralyzed. The clip makes me wince and turn away.

In the first shot you see the defender fly completely off the screen so fast he's a blur. The next shot, and in slow motion, you see the defender stay in the same spot and it's the QB's head that's a blur.

Williams guarantees Lions will beat Bears (http://www.mlive.com/lions/stories/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1158021610195250.xml&coll=1)
From TFA: "It was stupid how close we were to putting 40 points on the board."
From last weeks box score:

Well....kid's got moxy, but now we're playing the Bears. I may cry if the Lions suck, because this calendar year has seen my RedWings and Pistons both get the best regular season record, and not make it to the Finals. The Tigers are being classified as "The best and worst story of baseball" this year, and are looking like they won't even make the playoffs. I don't think I can deal with another year in which Detroit dosen't even contend for the NFC North title.

Has anyone heard anything on Trent Green? I was watching the chiefs game when it happened and am a little concerned about him.
Re: NFL [Archive] - ForumsHQ
X-rays were negative, out next two weeks as a precautionary measure, because the chiefs have an early week 4 bye. So he'll be back starting (as of right now, at least) week 5.

sniff. First the Royals, now the Chiefs. When will KC get a team that isn't a vortex of black-hole like suckage?
Re: NFL [Archive] - ForumsHQ
You'll always have good ol' KU basketball. :P
This may turn out to be a looooong season for me. Lions suck. I kept the wrong players in my fantasy league. Worst of all, though, is all the f'n ppl from Chicago I work with. Man, Bears this Bears that blah blah blah.....you'd think they played some good teams by the way they talking smack, not Green Bay and Detroit...

SHit we're only a few games into the season, and I have to say though I'm no big fan of the Bears they sure are looking good so far. Let's see how long this will hold up though.
Re: NFL [Archive] - ForumsHQ
I'm not saying they aren't good, mind you. Rather, as you stated, I think they're unproven. They've played two teams with bad records in recent years, and both sporting new coaches/coordinators/etc.
I'm surprised by Grossman though. He made some fantastic plays during the game against the Lions, save the interception. Most of you likely don't know about it though, because it was nullified. Pissed me off, Lions intercept and run it back for a touchdown, score at halftime was 24-0, mid-way through 3rd it's at 24-14, but wait. Flag on the field. Fucking bullshit illegal hands to the face penalty on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DAMN FIELD from the interception. Grossman never even looked at that receiver. Chicago keeps the ball, drives the field, and it's 31-7 instead.
Still, I must maintain my faith in the Lions. While we're likely short a few key players to be a contender, it's nice to see our coaching staff isn't the same type of crap I've seen the last 10 years. I mean, our Head coach is new at it, but he's been in Tampa the last 10 years, and was an assistant head coach there for the last 5. His son will be joining us next year, because Tampa dosen't let people out of contracts early, period.
Mike Martz....I've always hated the fucker, cuz I thought he was crazy, but now that he's our offensive coordinator I'm excited to see what he can do. Our offense seems to have spurts of brilliance, followed abruptly by hitting a brick wall.
Donnie Henderson as our defensive coordinator?!? FUCK YEAH! This guy has incredible knowledge of the Cover-2, which is what Tampa ran, and hence our head coach is VERY knowledgable in. Everyone was saying this guy would be a head coach this year, but he wasn't even interested. He came right to Detroit. :)
Between Marinelli (Tampa Bay 1996-05) and Henderson (Baltimore 1999-03; New York Jets 2004-05), their respective defenses have ranked in the NFL’s top 10 in total defense a combined 14 out of 17 times, and in the top 15 in 16 of 17 seasons. Included in that total are 11 top 5 rankings, nine top 3 rankings and six top 2 rankings.
I'm telling ya, by the end of the year, no one is going to want to play us. No one.

The only time I did not live in the KC area was the four years my family lived near Lexington KY, where I went to highschool. It was during the Duke/Christian Latner yrs. (what happened to him, btw?) As far as Basketball is concerned, my heart belongs to the Wildcats. GO UK!
