Character Account Issues [Archive] - ForumsHQ

All accounts appear to have mysteriously been erased. Thankfully the accounts save on a daily basis, I'm working on restoring from a backup but I'm not sure how to do it so I'll keep people posted.

**UPDATE**

Many accounts should now be restored. If you find your account doesn't exsist please recreate it, seeing as the player file is seperate from the account file I believe it should give all your characters back to you.

Cheers. Thanks man. I'll check it out when I get home tonight. Quick question: I recreated Speed and had a blank character list. Did you restore only those accounts that do not currently exist or can you check and see if the account Speed has any characters assigned to it? Don't worry about it if you're busy, I don't know how involved that is and I can just check later tonight.

So you re created the account Speed and it brought up a blank character list? Damnit! I was hoping it would cross reference the players file when you did that. Maybe a server reset will help.

If your actual characters name is speed i see him in the database.

Yep, my actual characters name is Speed as well so hopefully its still linked to the account. I didn't specify, but I recreated the Speed account -before- you did all this restoring, so maybe it did cross reference. I will let you know after I get home, thanks.

Just to let everyone know I wont be in WOW for a week or so. I got a new computer and I am working on building it and moving data from an old one to the new one that I have. Yeah I only had a 23 shaman. I like to concentrate on one char, and its in there again. Thanks. I was pretty stoked yesterday to be able to play it. Now I just gotta find where to get totems.
