I'd like to get your guys opinion on a good system for running a mud board.
I want to purchase a computer solely to run WG with 2 muds on it (wcc and wbb)
What is the best combination of CHEAP / BEST PERFORMANCE that you can think of? Where is the best place to buy something like this? And If i have another computer in addition to this for my personal use, can I not have a monitor on the WG server and somehow just use my current monitor? I know I could probably just unplug the monitor and plug it into the WG server, but maybe there is a switch you can get?
btw: WG server will be running off cable modem

yeah, you'd want a 2-port KVM Switch... you plug your monitor, keyboard, and mouse into it and then hook it up to both computers, and all you have to do is flip a switch to control which computer your keyboard/video/mouse is connected to. they sell them at CompUSA, Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc.

If your gonna buy a KVM switch, get a good one, dont get a manual POS, because they're a pain in the ass, and when the switch wears out it it becomes even more annoying.
Spend the extra cash and get a good one, one that uses auto switching (alt+tab+home) is what a friend of mine uses to switch between computers.

you dont need much power at all. the only thing to concern yourself with is a fast hard drive really. besides that a celeron 800mhz+ would do fine. no-name video card, cdrom, etc.

IMO, win2k pro seems to run WG the best. btw, a good amount of ram should be installed. 256-512 prolly.
