My friends BBS crashed and he lost his hard drive. So he reinstalled everything to set stuff back up and edited people back in the way they where with NM. He edited in their exp, limited items, etc. He edited in some of the questers (level 11 stuff) and they where on the users that had them and in the quest halls. Also stuff like the ruby necklace and what not is on a user and showing on the limiteds list as being on the monster that drops it.. How do we go about fixing this so it is correct and there are the proper amount of limited items...??
Thank you..
Question...
Re: Question...
did you run an offline recovery after editing all that stuff in? mud creates indexes when users pick up/drop/etc limited items. if you did run an offline recovery you could also try copying in a fresh (empty) WCCITOW2.DAT file and then run an offline recovery.
Re: Question...
Remove the item from the user and reset last known kill times in NMR. Compile an Update, Run MajorMUD Recovery. And load up the BBS with atleast one accout in the realm.

Re: Question...
Invisigod I am not sure what that will fix? The users already have the limited items. I am just trying to prevent there being more than the actual allowable limit of the items (its a stock mud) I just dont want people to go kill golem and then theres 2 ruby necklaces etc. *shrug* so removing the items from the user and then reseting the kill times will just put the items back at the boss? (i doubt everyone will want to go kill stuff again) dunno if that is what will happen or not. Thanks for the help, Ill have him try what you have suggested once he wakes up :)

Re: Question...
isnt that the point of the game is to kill stuff and if they alrdy have killed the monster once so they get double exp for killin it 2times and they get there iteim they wanted just make shure that peeps dont go kill shit hey didnt kill before so if say bob killed golem dont let sussie do it till bob gets the iteim from golem then susie can kill golem all she want but bob still get want he wants and had
Re: Question...
My point was to reset the item in question all together, back to who drops it.
