Honestly, this is actually upsetting to say the least. Seph did alot of work on those dats to just let someone get them off of his website (which was up there for mmudexplorer) and put them on their bbs. Me personally I would be quite pissed and throw a few things in the dats just to screw the entire game up! But thats just me. Anyways, when I get finished with the update for Lunar Dynamics website there will be no dats unless you are a member of the bbs. :)

Even though he took all the dats without asking he did show some courtesy. Give the poor guy a break

Common courtesy would be to ask before deciding to copy someone's .dats and put up a board. I mean, the simple fact that "wow, we have a Lunar clone" is stupid.. so you threw in some portal rooms, but the rest is a straight up copy - whoopti-doo. Personally, I think you're retarded for doing so, Vision.

Plus seeing the realm is only 2 months old and top player has over 90 billion experience... Let's not touch the fact that the majority of players on the entire topten consist completely of the sysops characters.

Hey .. if you post your dat files on the web then as far as im concerned its public domain at that point .. I could have taken the time to rename the items and call it mine and thus totally rip off the time and effort that the guys over at Lunar Dynamics put into it -- but i didnt..



The majority of the bbs's ive played on I dont care for the sysop or the people on there or the lag associated with the bbs.. its always something .. so I setup my own board and have only invited my friends to play on it... we've been playing and having a good time for the last 2 1/2 months... but its now to the point that all of us have anywhere from 10 billion to 90 billion exp and all we do is script. I thoguht it would liven things up a bit to make the board Public.. and it would also give people another place to play...



but if all everyone is going to do is whine and complain about me downloading files that were on a website for all to take then i can lock it back down to being a private board.. the bbs is just 1 of 11 computers on my lan so its something i could really care less about (which is why i didnt take the time to do my own mods). so lemme know, is everyone so offended by this that i should make it a private system again? it doesnt really matter to me one way or the other...

vision ... the file wasn't posted there "for all to take" and use on their own edited board. it was posted as a mmud explorer export file so that *THEIR* users could view *THEIR* edits. it wasn't posted for people to download and import into their own realm.



it's not like we are saying what you did was illegal or anything, but ETHICALLY it's totally innapropriate to do without the authors permission. admit that you feel the same and everything will be fine. continue with this line of thinking and you probably won't gain very many users at all.
