Wireless Networking..... [Archive] - ForumsHQ
I just moved into a new apartment, and there isnt enough room to put all my pc's close to each other to hook up to my router so I have decided to go wireless and all but 1. My main PC has a Linksys router, connected by ethernet cable. What do I need to make my other pc's wireless on the wired router? I know I will need the wireless nic, but what else? Is there a ethernet connector to put into the back of the router to make a wireless antanna? If you all have any links to any of this stuff it would help also. Thanks Alot!

you need a wireless access point (WAP) which plugs into a ethernet port and allows wireless connections. another option is to get a wireless router which usually comes with a 4-port switch as well and that would handle both of your needs in one device.
