Help out a beginner Sysop

I know that this is a big request from someone who just started here but I have been looking for awhile and this place seems to be a fountain of Mud knowledge. I've read a few of the threads here and this seems like a good place to get assistance for starting my own board. Any and all info that anyone could give me would be greatly apprieciated. Fair warning: I am an ABSOLUTE beginner as far as starting my own board or hexing anything so please bare with me and be specific in any instructions. I need to know what i need, where to get it and any advice that I can get. Thanks in advance to everyone willing to help.

From one "beginner" to another, don't get discouraged. When I first signed up on here, I was a beginner to running WG and mud, and knew absolutely nothing about editing mud. Look at me now. :-p Shit happens but if ya stick with it you can be successful. I've had to put up with a lot of shit and with people not taking Sinister Urge as a serious board, but, with a lot of work, and a few good words here and there, I'd like to think I run one of the more popular boards around right now.
