If all else fails you can always disconnect the console light so that it DOESNT come on and do what everyone else does and Check your lights every now and again for youself. Poor mans solution but fucked if it wont work.

No, sirdude, you're not crazy. The '90 Accord does have an indicator for a brake lamp being out. In fact, all trim levels (DX, LX, AND EX) have such an indicator. I can post a pic of my '90 Accord LX if you want, but that would be a pain because I'd have to go out, pull a brake lamp, turn the car on, hit the brake pedal, take the pic, put the thing back together and hope that it still worked...

Sirdude, rest assured, no worries. The 'BRAKE LAMP' indicator being on is not indicative of a problem with your braking system, just that a brake lamp is out and will need replacement. Personally, I think this is one of Honda's most poorly thought-out systems. It seems to be very sensitive to damp weather, ergo it comes on when it is rainy or humid out, even if all my brake lights work fine. I know it's an annoying dummy light, but if it comes on and stays on consistently, check your brake lights, and if they're all on, live with the light or put electrical tape over it.

Hope I've been helpful.

Old old OLD thread... heh.

You should check that all of the lamp sockets are clean, as well as check any ground circuits that have to do with the lighting system (there's probably a pigtail from the harness back there that's loose/corroded/whatever).

Those 'lamp out' systems basically just watch the entire circuit for incorrect voltage, and when they see that it is out of spec, they tell you there's a lamp out.
