brake light out [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by Sirdude »

I have a '90 honda accord EX and it says on the dash that the brake light is out, so I look back there, and it was not out. thinking there might be something wrong with the bulb i replace it anyway, and it still says it on the dash... I replace every single bulb for the brakes and it still says it...

I talked to someone who said that I need to get the brakes checked... is that hte problem?

i'm very interested to see if this is it. i dont think cars can tell when a light is out unless it's a special kinda light with a "loopback" built into it, heh. i bet it's the e-brake too.

it's not the f'n emergency brake, this dash light has been on for over a year, and it tells you when you need to replace the brakelight... also shows you if headlight(s) are out

I have never heard of a car telling you when your brake light is out, but if thats the case and its light but the light is not out, you prolly need to take the car into someone who can plug it into the computer and have them reset the errors, I had to do that on my grand am, when I did not get my gass lid tight. It caused my service engine soon light to come on, the only way to get it off was to have it reset.

Well see, I have a '93 Integra.. I.E. Acura, I.E. Honda

and we all know to following:

civic < accord < integra

Hence it's kind of odd your car would have that special feature, but mine doesn't. Hell.. not many cars these days, not to mention cars produced 13 years ago have that feature.

but if you say so.. you got a canadian model or something? :-p

Try resetting your ECU

I don't think your car has the "service engine" light, but then again it tells you when you have tail lights that aren't working :-p

Does your car tell you when to wash it too? Does the "wash me" light come on? :finger1: :-D

Oh p.s. I know you got an EX which is highest model (trim level, whatever), but I got GS, which is Integra's highest model as well. ;)

them RSX's are nice.. I don't think i'd ever get one, but they're nice. If I did get one, it would have to be type-s :cigar:

nah, it's not a type-s. there isn't a lot of open space in my area to really take advantage of it for the price increase.
