Running 1.11n and WG 3.2 with nightmare redux v1.0 and the basefiles 1.42 on the side

Ok, i got a bbs up and running, and i tried to install nightmare just like the tutorial said (making backup files and putting them in a diff directory) when i go to open nightmare (it's set to read the files in the other directory) it says a buncha errors like:

Nightmare Redux

Error 13: Type mismatch, before it opens nightmare, then

Error 91:Object variable or with block variable not set,

then another mismatch error, nightmare opens to the nightmare screen, 2 more mismatch errors, then it gives me a warning about Current 'dat file version' settings does not seem to match the loaded dat files, These dats appear to be 1.11n, so i go to setting and set nightmare to 1.11n, and it gives me the mismatch error and crashes, what do i do?

Upgrade your version of NMR to v1.4, Its by far the best version, and Ive never seen any of those errors using the most recent version of NMRs.. I mean, v1.0 doesnt even have the option to support 1.1n... Right?

Looks more carefully, you said version 1.0.

-I simply copied wcc*.dat (Assuming the files you have arent corrupted) to my C:\MUDEDIT dir, which is the directory I do all my online editing.. and I point NMR In that direction. Ive never really had those kind of problems, unless I was mis-matching MajorMUD/NMR Versions. Good Luck!

Regardless..

Do you have nightmare pointing to the correct backup folder?

In the past, I have had similar problems. I would simply reinstall everything.

Once I had WG installed and tested, I would reinstall MMUD. Make sure once you reinstall MMUD, you actually go online and let it run the database. THEN copy your wcc*.dat files into your backup directory. I don't know if you have already done all these things since it wasn't stated. But thats where I would start from. Once you have MMUD working fine, and you reinstall NMR, it should give you an error only the first time you load it. Once you point it at the correct folder, it shouldn't error anymore. I always set my folder, and dat version, then exit the program immediately and restart it just to make sure i get no errors.

Hope any of that helps.

Well i've had experiences with nightmare in the past, and i know/knew how to set it up, but the problem this time is the error 13, it crashes when i try to point nightmare to right spot or try to change it to read 1.11n and save, i did however notice that after all the errors if i didn't try and change anything i was able to open up the races/classes ect, so i don't know if i just ignore the error messages or what :hmm:

those kind of errors sound like you dont have all the required DLL's loaded. what operating system are you running? i would uninstall nightmare from your add/remove programs and then reinstall using the full v1.0 install, and then update it using the v1.42 install.
