Here's the deal:
I have a 4 port switch and wireless router (one piece of hardware), hooked up to the cable modem, so we are assigned one IP from comcast, and it's distributed through the computers.
I ALSO have a 24-port hub, and 3 printers. The printers are no problem, I can enable printer sharing. The problem is this: I have 7 computers, 1 of which is wireless (so not a problem). Is there a way I can get all of these 6 wired computers onto the network using the 4 port switch/router and the 24-port hub, or do I have to buy some extra hardware?
thx

You might be able to hook the 4 up, and then have 2 nic's in a few of them and reroute it that way?

When in doubt go with teh simplest solution
it worked...
Gator2683: dork thats simple
raybdbom B: tell me
Gator2683: plug a hub into a switch port
raybdbom B: ok
raybdbom B: thent he rest into the hub
raybdbom B:
rmm
Gator2683: or the rest into the switch
Gator2683: and hub
raybdbom B: but how do you configure it
Gator2683: whats on the switch directly will have less collisions
raybdbom B: nod
raybdbom B: yah i know that
raybdbom B: switch > hub
Gator2683: so priority shit goes on the switch, the rest on the hub
Gator2683: yeah there shouldnt be any extra configuration
Gator2683: a hub is just a repeater
Gator2683: only thing u might have to do is mess around with the uplink on the hub
Gator2683: not sure if u need to set it or not
raybdbom B: i'mma try it now
raybdbom B: do i need a crossover for switch to hub?
Gator2683: nope
raybdbom B: hrmm
raybdbom B: i think it worked
raybdbom B: heh
Gator2683: lol
Gator2683: hehe
raybdbom B: ass
