WHen you d/l AVG it's free to begin with, it is a hell of alot more user friendly than Nortscum. Even with all the recovery shit Nortscum is still a resource hog, and it imbeds shit so deep into windows that formating is the only way to get rid of all of it.

Q? What is the difference between Nortscum & Gator?

A The Name.

AVG is 1000% better than Nortscum, it finds and destroys viruses better. I haven't ever had a virus run rampant on my system since I have been using AVG, and it's close to 4 years now.

I've used Norton forever, never had any problems, always caught every virus, but I have to agree on the resource problem. I think I'll give AVG a try...

also try just emptying the "Norton protected files" from the recycle bin and then going to the properties of the recycle bin and turning off the norton protected files system.
