corrupt cabinet file [Archive] - ForumsHQ

wtf is a corrupt cabinet file and how do i fix it. erg i just bought this program and it wont freakin install.......

Instead of windows being one huge ass program, its split into cab files that are accessed during installation



What are you trying to install

you are pretty much correct, but just to clarify -- cabs are just microsofts version of zip. they can be used for any program, not just windows.

I had this problem installing win2k a while back...One of the cab files was corrupt. It may have just been when it copied from teh disk, since I just restarted the setup again and it worked fine the second time around.

But wtf are you trying to download!!! ARGGGG

I ask because if it is windows, theres a command that allow you to re-install from cabs..

i bought a game, yes... bought... cuz i couldnt find it for download. gave me the cabinet error. so i took it back and got a new one, and it still does it. i can't figure this shit out. im a retard when it comes to computers.
