Look at the room data on the ancient ruins. Look at the monster data on crimson mist and massive fanged spider. Compare notes to bosses that stay put. It's the best way to learn.

ok 2 things, i've found the monster needs the active: 1 option...

however looking at the ancient ruins i dont see how the mist would spawn there because of the min and max index is way below the mist's index....if anyone knows how it works could they let me know..

if the monster has its own index thats not used by anything else, just have it set in a group of rooms to regen in any of them when someone walks in. or place it as a placed npc in each of those rooms and whichever room is walked into first, the monster will regen in that room.

Just to let you know..bosses like LOTH, Crimson Mist, Devil Fiend Malivek don't regen in random rooms. (Almost) Every boss has a set room to regen in..they just roam as soon as they're alive.

Hell, if you would have asked me about a month ago I could have told you the exact room LOTH regens in...I found it by mistake.

Just have your boss regen anywhere and tell em to roam. Crimson mist doesn't really roam though, I think he rather sort of teleports..unless chasing. You won't find him in a room that's not a regen room unless he was dragged there..unlike LOTH or Devil fiend, they'l be in any room. Maybe crimson mist can regen in any of the regen rooms? He might be set up differently, I haven't looked at any of it to see...

you could also assign it as a placed monster (npc) in a few different rooms and the first one someone goes to it will spawn in (if it's a limit 1 monster only one will spawn in one place).

i think i sussed it, i haven't tested it yet, but i just set his index to 1 higher than the mobs in the area, and added his index to all the rooms with the mass room editor, set his game lim to 1 (as u do for bosses :D ) and set him to active, and to my calculations this should work...as i used the massive web and massive fanged spider as a guide...

don't set him to active. when mud puts a monster that has a set game limit into the game it marks it as active. when it puts the second one in it sets it to 2, etc. when one dies it subtracts one. basically, just let mud handle that spot. really it should only be changed if mud thinks there is one active but there isn't. when you run an offline recovery one of the things i think it does it remove all the monsters and sets their "active" to 0. and then when people go to the rooms they respawn.

btw, i could be wrong on this as i've never done extensive testing with it, but i'm pretty sure.
