Problem

When I edit in nightmare while the bbs is online things get overwritten, and I loose my changes.



Sollution?

This is where I need help.

I want to have majormud data files in a seperate directory, so I can edit them without having to worry about things getting overwritten that I have done.

What files do I move?

install WG/MUD into another directory and just transfer over the wccupd002.dat I believe that's the name of the update file...otherwise take the board down before compiling updates.

As Reck said, take the board down before compiling the updates. It's the safest way to do it. It only takes a sec, just down it, compile, and re-start it.
