WG and a router

How would you set up a board to run off a router.

Im sharing the router with another box upstairs and the router is making me use the ip it is giving me.

You know the 192.168.1.1 crap, id rather like to use a different ip than that

You use the ip that the isp provides, but what you gotta do is setup your router to forward port 23 to your computer or the computer which has the bbs. Its very simple really

Sure Linksys might make good shit but sometimes they are crap!!

I cant get the damn thing to allow port 23 to even be accessed as I get this wonderfull error when the board tries to start up

Thats not an access prob with your port, its that your IP is different than whats in your settings. Either change your setting to AUTO or to the ip your on, and make sure you keep the same ip...but if your isp keeps reassigning an ip...then stick with auto.

I did the same thing at one point.. and yeah, basically just gotta use the router nat ip to access its firmware.. tell it to redirect all hits on port 23 to your computers network IP the 192.168...., and like they said go into the WG Config file (I prefer to use the one in the wgserv directory over the one in the start menu that they provide) .. good luck.. but it does work I know :)

yes, just telnet into your router. I dont know what your Firmware IOS is but you will be able to config everything.

shoot, you could even just set up the router using HTTP!
