gear poofing [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by dxpac666 »

Does any one else have a problem with deathpiles poofing on their boards? 50-100% of deathpiles poof whenever someone dies. Not only at cleanup, but if someone dies, and they run back real fast, their gear is gone. Also what is the "DestroyOnDeath" box for items in Nightmare? I didn't know if that had something to do with it, or not.

Yea just what invisigod said Also you may want to think about data recov. cause it sounds like the game it trying to replace everything in the realm which means that the items are going poof cause they are all out.. if that doesn't work reainstall and rentergrate the users file so nothing will be lost.

Actually, no. He's using Nightmare 0.96 which is bugged in that respect. There's 3 boxes on the bottom: DestroyOnDeath, Gettable, NonDropable. For 99% of the items, DestroyOnDeath and Gettable are checked. Eternal Flame for example... which we all know poofs on death, has Gettable and NotDropable checked, but not DestroyOnDeath.

Also, when an item poofs because it's suppose to you get the message "Suchandsuchitem has been returned to its rightful place." when you die. Easy way to tell.

Now I have to figure out exactly what is causing things to disappear. This has happened to me personally, so I know people aren't lying about it. It also happened to me once on Lunar... 'Vis prolly remembers this... It was odd tho, it was in his Mod9 realm... when My Cleric and Ninja died in crypt and their gear was nowhere to be found, I even went back into the QW room to see if my wep had returned there and it didn't. Where did you end up finding the flail Invisigod? I wonder if it all ties in together as some big consipiracy by metro to fuck up hexed boards ..

No, I think it ties into the conspiracy for metro to fuck all boards.

Well if you believe its a conspiracy then all you have to do is locate the common denominator on each BBS and remove it.
