user levels [Archive] - ForumsHQ
My board went down last night due to a power outage for I dunno how long, but one of my users is complaining that before the board went down, he was level 59. After it came back up he was 23, forced to retrain his stats, too heavy to move... i know for a fact he's not lying, i have seen him in lvl 50 restricted areas. What the heck is up with this? Has this happened to anyone before and is there any way to fix it/prevent it from happening again? I don't want to edit his exp cuz you all know what happens to characters that get edited... but if that's what I have to do, then thats what I have to do. Any suggestions?

Sorry i have never come accross that before... umm the only thing i can say you should have a backup from the day before just do i restore for the char files or everything and he will have his level back might alittle less exp but hey at least everything back to normal...

MajorMUD is constantly accessing the user database, when you got zapped it was probably in the middle of a read/write session and something wasnt written correctly, just close your BBS to the public, assign him mudops and log him in and sys edit him back to where he was.
Re: user levels [Archive] - ForumsHQ
wouldn't that leave "edited" next to his name until he rerolled?
(im just wondering if i missed something using the sys edit commands)
