Is there a way to convert old DOS versions of mmud eg. v1.1a to a windows version so it'll run through wg3.20?

Somehow i doubt it, they use different encoding schemes from what i can tell. I've tried it before with partial success. But some things still acted glitchy, mainly the users database.

If you install upgrade by upgrade (1.11a to 1.11b, to 1.11c, to 1.11d, etc) or find out which ones do a database changeover, and install those one by one, it will work. One of them (the one with the race/class change) is the major database update. I've done it before, and had race/class change options to boot. I can't remember the ftp I got all the older versions, this was right after mod8 was introduced. I'm pretty sure it was wcc's old ftp to download versions, if its still up. When they released those old dos versions, they had the installed upgrade and change the database to the newer windows versions, so if you install the updates, you'll be straight.

Hehe you lost me there Speed I don't understand.
But I do mean like install v1.1a into your wg3.2 bbs dir...then convert the .dat files to windows.
For example
wccupdat.dat to wccupda2.dat
DOS ---------------> Windows
Something to do something like that.
Know what I mean?

Oh, damn, you wanted to go from MBBS to WG. I kinda missed that part, thought you wanted something else. I know there is a way, I just can't recall. I believe there is a mmud patch out there that will take MBBS mud to WG mud, for all those sysops who transferred from MBBS to WG. There definately is a patch, but I don't know where it is. Ok I'm not much of a help. I know theres a patch, I dunno where it is, and I don't know how to work it.

Thanks...I'll have a search around the web for the patch. I remember hearing about it sometime ago when wg3 first came out. What I'd like to do is setup a bbs with a current version of mud and an oldie.
Cool thanks anyway
