new (to me) truck [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by Pantharen »

Dad & I just bought a 1989 GMC pickup dedicated propane with a few extra goodies. (officially pick it up Sunday) I got it from Craigslist.org he asked $1800, we got it for $1500. The tiny amount of work need is only 2 very minor rust spots, and a rear window panel, and front window in the canopy, and the pivot on the drivers seat has popped out. This truck was only ever used for pulling a trailer. He bought a Land Yacht and doesn't have the trailer anymore.

Propane will be nice, considering gasoline is 86+ c p/liter (spikes as high as 125c p/l) propane hasn't moved from .63c p/l in 2 years. The truck also has an adapter so you can fill the tank from a BBQ tank in case of an emergency (ie: a jerry can is you will)

Kudos' AA.

This is the 3rd Propane vehicle I have looked at in the last couple of months, but its the only one that doesn't require a major overhaul. Propane is very common, all our police cars & taxi's use it.
