Lacey Mosley, the female hard rock singer of Flyleaf, has been in hard rock bands before. She had one complaint about her previous groups, the negativity. Hard rock is known for it's painful lyrics, it's angst ridden riffs, and heart ripping drum beats. This is not what Lacey wanted, she didn't want her music to keep her in her pain, in her lonliness. She wanted her music to be truthful to the pain she does feel but wanted her music to uplift people. She wanted people to walk away knowing that there are better days, that there is a way through the pain. As she shows in the song So I Thought



"thoughts free-flow...try to consume myself in this I'm not faithless, just paranoid, of getting lost or that I might lose."



Her faith in God plays a large role in her music, but this isn't another case of Creed. She didn't get into a band to be a preacher to a flock that needs preaching to, and don't worry she isn't trying to convert you either as shown by these lyrics in a song titled Breathe Today



"I can only say what I've seen and heard and only you can choose. And every choice you make will affect you, search your own self."



Her lyrics are intelligent and soulful. Her singing style rivels that of Avril Lavigne and Amy Lee of Evanescence, and the music is hard enough for fans of Tool and Metallica. Don't let their genre of Christian Rock fool you, this is a hard rock band that delivers hard hitting emotions with an added sense of being satiated.

I'm So Sick is such an addictive song for me. I love the album. Lacey has that ability to sound so sweet and turn so hard that it's almost like a different person. I've tried to get my friends in to Flyleaf and so far it's going well.

I am atheist, yet I listen to a LOT of christian rock. I think it is uplifting.. especially the band Mae. They very rarely mention God or religion, but their album Destination Beautiful is very uplifting, and leaves me with a smile. But the worst part about liking Flyleaf, is that they will be performing in Spokane, which is like a half hour away from where I live in Idaho.. while I am in Illinois!!!! Bummer.... but on a very uplifting note: As soon as tickets go on sale for the Tool concert in May... guess who is going???? MEEEEEE, and it is in Seattle. A few hours away, but the drive will totally be worth it!!

I saw flyleaf open for Cold a few months ago, and they put on a good show, and were VERY friendly to me after the show, but there's something about them I just dont like much. Maybe it's that theyre getting so much fame so quickly when they arent something that original.

oh man... cold fuckin BLOWS live lol i saw em open for the deftones they were so horrible but i dont think they really fit in with the crowd everyone there wanted to mosh and cold was just mellow as shit
