Linux for x86_64 [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Im currently in the process of downloading the 4 Fedora Core ISO's to reformat my main PC and use it as a trial box for Fedora Core(x86-64), Solaris,Lindows and possibly Gentoo. Anybody care to share Linux experiences to help me find the right flavor?

werd... i had that same processor like 2 years ago



now i got 2x Opteron 275 Dual-core (4 processors show on task manager)



i installed gentoo linux (2004.1?) as well as freebsd (5.1?) on my athlon64 and had various problems with it, but I'm sure they've got wide support for it now, considering its wide support. talk to erek about gentoo, that's his flavor of choice... dunno if he has an x86_64, but u can ask...



if you didn't like *nux on x32, it won't be any easier to love on x64 as you'll only have more problems.

fuck "x86_64" Linux, there's really no need to use it... just do a good ole regular 32-bit distribution and you won't be missing anything. believe me.
