In lieu of all the recent flames and thread crapping I propose the following--




Delete the hall of flamers forum or maybe just hide those threads from the new and daily search results.

Institute new rules:


Any post that contains a personal insult towards any member will be deleted.

Any post that is deemed as non-constructive will be deleted.

Mods will decide what is and is not constructive.

Complaining to mods about a deleted a post will result in a 1 week ban.

Ill second that. MMB/ForumsHQ was at one time a very beneficial Forum and a good one to be part of. Many of the old users have left tho because the maturity level of the posters on here has droped by, oh say, about 75%.



And for those who dont like the proposed changes, theres millions of other places out there you can be nusisances and pests on. Im sure they even have forums purely dedicated to people who like to do nothing but flame the crap out of each other.

I wouldn't delete the hall of flamers.. it's kind of a sacred bastion of bullshit. I would however, perhaps limit the amount of posts a user can mak there a day, and have those threads not actually show up in the new thread list so that people actually have to go look for them to read that.

i think the idea we are going for is that there should be no flaming at all. all the hall of flamers does is allow people to put down others, create drama, and ultimately figure out how much we hate each other. if these forums were nothing but constructive posts we wouldn't know how much we hate each other and everyone could decide if they like someone or not through conversation. whether that be via a bbs, IM, email, whatever. having a forum were people put down other and point out their mistakes and flaws only taints the 3rd party perspective.

i think most people would rather seldom constructive posting over flame fests. hopefully the knowledge of knowing you can post something without being made fun of will encourage more people to post. the fact that you can make that comment and i can't say you're wrong proves that this is a problem that needs to be addressed.
