So I'm new to editing and have been tooling around figuering out nightmare and such for a couple weeks and everything has gone fine. All i've done up until now is add 2 new areas, all in the 9000 room districts of map 1 and 6 and i've added 7 or 8 monsters, and 4 or 5 items. I went in to test the second area as soon as I got the most of it completed to test it out and at first world group was giving me an error regarding my tcp/ip setup not being the same as windows. After I restarted windows it for some reason went away and now I get 2 btrieve errors regarding mud files and I was wondering if anyone knows why and/or how to fix it. I'm hoping it's not one of those situations where unless I have backups then I'm screwed. I hadn't edited much so I didn't figuere I needed to worry about backing up anything until I atleast had 1 area tested and completed....anyhow, the 2 errors are as follows and any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTRIEVE OPEN ERROR 20 ON FILE ".\WCCACMS2.DAT"
BTRIEVE OPEN ERROR 20 ON FILE "wgsmenu2.dat"
Also, I only had the first error when I was trying to figuere out what was wrong with it a couple days ago. I didn't edit/touch/move anything and now I get 2 errors..heh...sucks to be me I guess.

Re: Btrieve open error...
restart your computer. Error #20 is : A request has been made before Brequest or the record manager has been started.
I find I get this also after opening and closing nmr a couple of times. A complete reboot always seems to take care of this problem.

Re: Btrieve open error...
in NMR under the general help there is a listing of all the betrieve status codes. error 20 is "Record Manager Inactive." meaning it can't find the btrieve engine. you could try copying w32*.* from your WG directory to your system (or system32 on NT+) directory.
