Obviously you don't know as much about MUD as you should.

If you invite someone to your party, and then cast a spell, it casts on them because they are 'invited'.

If you don't believe me, you can try it yourself.

....you see I wouldn't use anything that I haven't already tried. The navigations DO NOT work unless you are invited AND JOIN. I tried it all ways and when I invited and the other did not join they stayed where they are. Pretty simple really. :-) Thanks for your input and help though.

you're both right in a way... depending on how you implement it, casting teleport spells may be reliable in party spells. if you have them set as instant spells, merely teleporting the party regardless of the circumstances, it'll work just fine when you cast it on someone invited but not yet joined (i.e. won't affect them).

imo a far better way of implementing any teleport spell, since instant teleports are rather silly unless you have sys goto enabled (an unbalancing factor for pvp/bosskilling in the first place) is to have your teleport spells check for the presence of monsters, or check a player's hps, or a host of other textblock-based functions that can be used to restrict it slightly. however, doing this for a party spell requires that you tie it to a party duration spell which will then endcast the textblock on each person individually... and that's where the bug comes in, since a party duration spell will work if cast on someone you've invited who hasn't joined yet.

the upshot of all this: either way you do it, party teleport spells are going to be flawed and unbalance combat in some way.

If you invite someone to party but they do not join and you cast rsto (big heal) or chant or any other spell like that, it casts on the people not joined but invited too.

I understand what you are saying, but in this case, if you are invited and do not join, you do not get teleported.

OK....the bouncing seems to be dropping off. I only noticed it really happened only a few times today. :-)

If we are down it's because we are having an ice storm. Just wanted to let everyone know what's happening while I still have power. If we are down, think warm thoughts for me. :-)
