Would you contribute your edits?

Post by Sven »

If there was a place to post edits you have done, would you contribute?

Well, we would need templetes for the different edits (textblocks, msgs, monsters, areas, items, etc)

Example for an area:

Name: Temple of Undead

Size: 500

Map: 15

Rooms: 4000-4500

Monsters (if any): 3512-3514

Boss room(s): 4490,4497

Items: 4000,4401

Comments: This a large undead area consisting of a crypt and 3 levels. Regen is tough. Would recommend for lvls 60+ on regular boards

Then would have a dl link available.

i am slowly working on a tool that will allow you to change record numbers and all their references within an export file. this would allow you to make another persons edits fit into your record numbering system.

Because as it is the only person thats doing anything to help progess the mud development scheme is syntax. Boards go up, run a time, and die. Some of them have some nice edits. If we had something like this we wouldn't have to sit around remaking the wheel every time someone wanted to make a board.

if something like this were setup i'd be quite willing to pass along various generic edits i've done, just things to make the legit game more convenient, and i'd probably selectively put up areas/quests as well. of course, lots of what i've done is customized and just wouldn't make sense or be right to release.

Oh, glad to see some positive feedback. It would be nice if only quality material was submitted. Anyone can pop up a random spell or monster easily, but a thought out description with custom messages and spells and loot would be more on track to what I was thinking..

I am not saying post everything you do, just anything you don't mind sharing, or perhaps if you made a neat textblock script to do something, you can post it and tell people to give credit if you use it..

On that note, try to give credit if you use anything. :)
