Yeah, my computer had restarted while WG/MM were up, then when I try to open WG all this crap happens. WCCMMUTL opens up and does a full recovery, then when it gets to allocating the buffers and stuff the event log says Access Violation. Attempt to read from: ffffffff. I'm not sure what's wrong. WG 3.30 and MM 1.11N also.
Also, on a seperate note, whenever I try to use the base installer for NMR 1.0 it says Windows Installer had an internal error. I searched the internet and the nearest I can find is getting a newer version of WI. Any ideas where I can get that?
Attempt to read from: ffffffff?

recovery is normal to run after a crash, it will always do that. did you try re-running wccmmutl after that ... to see if it would complete successfully? also, from the sound of your error, have you been messing with the buffer settings at all? how long have you had this board running?

are you trying to run it from inside the zip? aka, are you extracting it first? if that isn't the issue, try here:

Well, I know it runs after a crash. I remember running WCCMMUTL manually before, but I'll do it again now. Also, I couldn't change the buffer settings if I wanted to; I don't know what it is. The board has been up for about 3 weeks with no problems. What happened was I was going to kill Gudruk but during the fight I got a low system memory error thing, and I had to turn off the computer. I restarted and it worked fine, but with all my characters about where they were 5 minutes ago. So I go to kill Gudruk again but my computer locked up (I'm on a 133 P2 running WG/MM with 7 sessions of mega on my computer.) When I restarted again I got the errors. Anyways, the whole 7 sessions of mega has been working fine, the only reason it locked up is because I was trying to alt-tab between some and it wasn't working. Also, I don't remember trying to extract NMR from the zip but I'll download again and try the way you suggested. Thanks for your help man.
EDIT: Ok I ran the utils and tried restarting it but it still doesn't work.

i think that may be your problem. how much ram do you have? each instance of megamud uses at least 4mb of ram. a p2 133 would have a lot of trouble handling wg and 7 megamuds.

I have 64 ram, but I've been running WG and 7 Mega's for the past month with no problems at all.

64mb is definately not enough to run just the 7 megamuds, let alone wg server along with it. i don't care if it ran fine for a year, it's still just asking for trouble. 7 megamuds = AT LEAST 35mb ram, plus windows probably uses 50-64 by itself. therefor, every single operation you do is using the hard drive's swap file for ram. that equals slow, shitty, and very prone to crashes.

Well I've been running it fine and I haven't had any crashed. It doesn't even slow the computer down at all until I do Gudruk and his 1000 dwarves that come in the room. I have WG/7 MMs running and I still surf the internet fine. I doubt the memory is the problem. Even if it is, I can't go out and get a new computer/ram anyway. What else could it be?

Anytime you just go and flip the power switch on your computer, there's always a possibility of files getting corrupted. Now take into the fact that you're not exactly dealing with top of the line software, put 2 and 2 together.
If you play with fire, you'll get burned. Running so many applications with such little resources is playing with fire...Savvy? :cigar:

I'm not denying that low memory is what caused the problem, but I know that the low memory would only have an effect when I'm doing something intensive such as the whole thing with Gudruk. The memory had no direct effect on the problem; it caused the shutdown which caused file corruption. What I want to know is how do I fix the file corruption? I've tried reinstalling WG/MM.
