The very existence of the universe implies that something must have come from nothing. There is no way that something could have come from nothing unless something was created. Could it have been that the 'big bang' was created, to fuse the 2 most popular theories? Maybe...
But the fact remains that something HAD to have come from nothing, for nobody can comprehend the fact that something was ALWAYS here. It transcends knowledge, or experience.
The Buddha would say that it doesn't matter where the Universe came from or how it started, the wrong questions are being asked. While I'm not buddhist, I think Buddha has the right idea. We shouldn't focus so heavily on things that perhaps there are not answers to. Instead we should focus on ourselves and our actions and morals and ethics.

And more on the universe, there are many logical proofs which PROVE that the universe doesn't even exist! Our modern "accepted" theories of the universe claims that it has a boundary somewhere many thousand perhaps even millions of light years away from our position. But then what is past the boundary? Nobody can answer that question because there is no answer that fits into the "accepted" theories. The accepted theories are crap if they cannot stand, but of all of the failing theories the "accepted" is the one that fails the least, which is why it's "accepted".

Wow, you touching on fun philosophy now. Yet there is only one small flaw that I can see, and if you can get around it, I'm happy to indulge your theory.
To say that the universe doesn't exist implies that it does, for if it doesn't exist, it can't be a thought nor a reality. If you give thought to whether or not it does exist, you create an idea for what the universe might be, and what it might not be. To give such characteristics to nothing is to create something, thus disbanding the entire concept of nothing.
As to whether or not the universe came from nothing, that would be impossible. If there was nothing, then there could be no thought or reality of any kind. If this was the case, nothing would have continued on without change, as there was nothing to change or shape it.
Of course, if the universe were merely a pocket of nothing, surrounded by a sea of thought and reality, then perhaps we could have come from nothing. But then you have to deal with how there was a pocket of nothing admidst all of the other reality. Surely something at some point in time would have looked at the nothing and thought about it, thus giving it some sort of primitive reality or thought. While that could have been when the universe was formed, how to you explain the prolonged nothing in reality?
You can't say this time that the outside reality started from nothing, for everything in that nothing would have been affected by whatever made the reality in the first place. You can't say that the nothing was sectioned off into seperate nothings, for that gives them some sense of identity, which by default creates two somethings, both composed of nothing, but each having it's own characteristic boarders. So with that distinction and identity they become something, not nothing.
