For some reason I always end up checking the "Euphorisms" on the side on the page here...and right now mine was, "What does the K in K-mart actually stand for?" and I thought I'd let you all know that it stands for Kresge -- the last name of KMart's founder, Sebastian Kresge.

yep, like the Wal in walmart is for it's founder,

sam walton, I think. and the JC in JCPenney stands for it's founder too.
