I like the new layout. The cavalier on the horse with his coat-of-arms is sweet. The majorMUD textblock is cool too. Kudos to the MMB admins for giving the forums a fresh look.

I think MKB is a project that they are working on. The description leads one to believe nothing else is known about it.
