Errors running wg..

Well, my friend was trying to install wg, and he ran into some errors.
this is a long story and i dont feel like typing the whole thing, but the upshot of the situation is:
he was having troubles starting wg, so i copied the files to a temp dir and uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Now, the thing is on the reinstalled wg, the setup (i'm referring to the setup wiz where you put in your bbs info, ipaddy, etc..) doesnt even run. NONE of the shortcuts run for that matter. They will run when I go to the command prompt and start them manually. Now, wg comes up w/ some stupid error like "error loading *****.dat" Now note, this didnt happen on the previous WG installation. I verified this by launching the old wg that i backed up... it launched fine, but mmud had some errors. I was trying to unload the mmud module from coming up, but the wg utility for doing that wouldnt run.
Anyways...remember i said that on the new wg install, i get that error message. So now, i copy all *.dat files over to the new wg install dir and boom, it runs fine except now its trying to load the mmud module again...
Anyways, wg is pretty f*cked up and not to mention the fact that this guy's cdrom is not working, so i cant put it on there. Anyways, my suggestion was to fix cdrom or re-dl the whole thing and start from scratch.
Just wondering if this happened to anybody before...
p.s.... i left a lot out, so if it sounds pretty obvious like "why didnt you do this.." I probably did.
p.p.s... i'm just wondering why this install had corrupt wg files while the old install he did was fine... :shocked:
p.p.p.s (he never tried to run wg w/o mmud installed, so we actually dont know if it would have run fine the first time.. i'm guessing it would have.)
