That would appear to be a problem with btrieve opening that particular file during install, i would uninstall worldgroup (if thats an option) and do a fresh install, either that or it may be a bad spot on the hard drive itself

I'm having the exact same problem as maniac's friend. I've tried uninstalling WG and reinstalling it but i still get the same problem. I have everything in the WCC folder as it said to do in the readme files. I heard from a friend that everything has to be in certain folders etc. Could someone give me a hand possibly?

Can email me at Fojud@aol.com

thanks for any help

I still don't know whats goin on with this error...All the installs I've had to do, all you do is unzip to a directory and run the install, which all that does is unpack files and create a directory for the .vir files. Then it unpacks the rest of the files into the main server directory. I don't recall it editing any files, so it shouldn't have errored out on that. The only problem is that file might be missing....did you install and run the bbs before ever trying to install the game? That could be a partial problem cuz alot of the wg files aren't made until the initial startup of the bbs.

If this isn't the case, then I don't know what it could be...might just wanna goto a diff ver of wg (what ver are you running anyway?) 3.12 has been the best, IMO. No real need to upgrade, but when I looked at 3.2, it had some stupid shit goin on in it (don't remember now, was a while back
