Ok i just set up WG 3.X and i have all the MajorMUD modules up to 8.
currently i have not made my bbs public yet. mostly because i am new
to the whole sysop thing.
my question is, based on the computer i am useing (described below),
how many users can i have on at one time without causeing major lag
or crashing the system or whatever.
computer:
833 pentium3
128megs ram
20 gig hard drive
cable modem (road runner) Joabe@san.rr.com

You can run 50+ users easy with that setup.
Hexing is definitely a great way to make your games more interesting. Be warned however, Metro doesn't like people who edit their game. If you decide to hex your game, Metro will no longer provide you with any support and you are no longer eligible for upgrades. (Of course Metro never provides support or upgrades for those who never bought mmud licenses in the first place... *snicker*)

Welcome to the world of BBS'!
First off, you may want to read up on my posts in the hexing forum, i gave a nice tutorial on setting up your bbs, and game. But if you already have the bbs up and running, you may wanna skip it, up to you...
Anyway, hexing is a great way to customize your game, but there are always other ways to customize your board. After all, users don't log directly into the game, they usually have to go thru the BBS to get to it. With that being the case, its always a great idea to customize the entire BBS, give it a nice genre that could get users more attracted to playin other games on your board. Majormud does get boring after a while, and if you have other games on the board, you could do things like run tournaments in t-lords or chat in teleconf and have fun with global commands whatever you feel like doing. A fun BBS means a fun mmud! remember that...
Anyway, welcome to the world of BBS', hope you enjoy it and have a successful board.

Hey, i'm new to editing, but if you need creative help, I'm around. I also would play on a new edited board.
