I have a 9300 as well.
Differences: I got the 1.7 ghz cpu, not the 1.86 (IMO they charge too much for the nominal differences)
Didn't pay $250 to dell for 1gb of ram (paid $100 to newegg for OCZ ram)
Got the 60gb 7200 rpm drive instead of the 80gb 5400 (4200?)
cdrw/dvd-r combo instead of dvd writer (my desktop has 2 dvd writers)
ati x300 128mb instead of the geforce 6800 256mb (my desktop has a 6800gt so i can enjoy the higher resolutions on that, the x300 is great otherwise)
truelife glossy sxga screen instead of xga.
Paid $1,350 (1250+100 to newegg) shipped instead of $1,750

they say it wont ship until then but it will probably ship sooner. they said mine wasn't going to ship for a month and i had it the next week. as for the size and fitting it into a backpack, yea. i have an OLD eddie bauer laptop bag that fits it good enough. besides that no other bag I have fits it.

i looked on their site real quick and i dont see anything like it. i've had this bag since middle school IIRC (i'm 24 now). I used a $750 off coupon too but they are tricky. did you have to start customizing it froma "select list of inpsirons"? if so that's how they get you. they give you limited options and jack the price a little bit. it's still better than buying it straight up with no coupon but you gotta get the ones that let you just go onto their site the normal way (without following a specific link to a list of laptops) and just apply a coupon code at the end.

from the looks of it, it seems it had a coupon automatically applied already, and it just takes off that coupon and uses mine. it seems to have adjusted it correctly?
