This is pretty cool. BMW says its cars will have infra-red night vision capabilities built in. While the technology is hella cool, I can’t believe they mounted it “in dash” so that you have to take your eyes off the road (presumably at night) to use it. Doh!

BMW claims that its new 7 Series is the first production car to feature a far infra-red night vision system, used in conjunction with the new high-beam "assist" function to make night driving safer.

Cool toy, nonetheless!

You'd have to take your eyes off the road just as long as you would as if you were to look at your rear view... whats the difference? This is genius.

Cadillac has this but in a HUD display in thier cars I believe. Kickass stuff if you ask me. Id like to have one installed in my Jeep.
