hardcore bbs is almost complete and will be opening to the public soon. lemme give you the rundown. you only get 1 life. if you die, you will be rerolled. however, charts have been lowered and exp has been raised, so you can gain levels quickly. the realm has all been removed; the only available areas are newhaven, silvermere, and the sewers. there are instant regen monsters for leveling, and bosses have been moved into town. many limited items have been made unlimited, and there are new limited items in their place. it will most likely be a no scripting bbs. thats the basics. obviously there will be a big focus on pvp and wars over the items (which are only available thru bosses). sound interesting? give me some feedback. its basically done except for a bunch of grunt work, which i don't really want to have to do unless theres interest in the bbs and people will play. silvermere has been reworked so you won't be able to use megamud (which is a plus in my eye)

I think it sounds HARDCORE.

Anyways, so my post isn't completely off topic, the 1 life thing sounds pretty damn cool, but if you do that, you should definately make it much harder to die (and especially take out insta-death bullshit). You might run into problems with the whole non-script issue just because people don't like to mess with it much. But whatever you choose, I'm sure it'll be fun.

In keeping with the spirit of the post, 1 life = awesome. I can think of many instances offhand that would be made interesting w/this (#1 guy talking to much smack? Get a friend and go roll his ass.) Obviously, will have to see the board before I can comment much more. Good luck w/it, and don't let greedy mudders change everything you were going to do to the board.

Like I asked before, what is an update on this BBS? who cares about the stupid cave bear in the pyramid?
