B) Been online and stable for a predetermined amount of time



so a website that's updated say, once or twice a day would be a good idea.

it wouldn't have to have rankings or anything. just a list of bbs's that agree to be on it, and when you click on the bbs name, it'd open up another webpage that has like, an overview of the edits and rules, and a link to the website and the address. and maybe a capture of the top 50 or something so people know how old/new the bbs is.

One of the largest problems facing someone who would be willing to put this online would be constantly having to maintain and update it in order to keep up with the BBS's that constantly either go offline, change names, change ownership, or just completely disappear with no explanation.



Like I've noted before, we have a .info (majormud.info) available that we currently use as a domain name for my board that we would be willing to allow someone to use for something like this if they came up with some webspace and someone to maintain/create it.

please, explain to me how a BBS could both establish a name for themselves and have been online and stable for this "predetermined amount of time" that you speak of, when one of the bbs's that was added to the list had been online and public for just under a day? especially considering that Phrancheyez basically doesn't exist anymore and there has been no information given as to when the BBS will be playable again.

The address for the phrancheyez points to my machine because I hosted it and nobody has removed the pointer. The board you logged into still says phrancheyez, but it is the WG that's running on my machine for my random edits and boredom fixer. I made it so nobody could spend more than a minute on there but me, because so many people still connect. That doesn't really have any relevance to the thread, just explaining why you actually got a connection - just assume its down and permanently.

artic, your post is crossing the line in more ways than one. since i don't want to erase the points you are trying to make i will leave it in tact as long as this conversation can resume to more mature lines of communication. however, you need to tone down the insults.



first of all, raiden is not a moderator of these forums. second of all, both of you are taking this shit way too seriously. BBS's DO NOT ask to be put on that list. i have never been asked at least. the list isn't updated because none of us has gotten the motivation to update it. want results? make a list of the bbs's that you think should be on there now and we'll update it. woot. end of story. calm the F down.

i was just mentioning that there already is a nice little list on mmb that has edited boards, but it apparently stopped being updated and doesn't mean anything. did you read my original post? all i said is that i thought it'd be a good idea to have some kind of webpage somewhere that has a list of edited boards that, and this is the kicker, gets updated regularly, which is why i said the premiered bbs list sucks

My bbs (WDBBS) for one, is on that list and is still up and running (not counting this house move) and i have had at least 3 peeps that have signed on and said they saw my BBS in this thread!!

there are 4 people living in a house, Bob (invisigod), Joe (artic), Larry (raiden), and Frank (syntax). All 4 of these people love apples (edited boards). Bob decides it would be a good idea to buy a big bowl of apples and put it on the dining room table (make a list of edited boards). So, he does, and everything is fine.



Months pass. Some of the apples (edited boards on the list) are no longer shiny and new and good (the information is outdated). In fact, some of the apples are rotten and poisonous (some of the boards are down for good). Joe points out this fact to no one in particular , and says "Hey, maybe we should just throw out this bowl and buy a new one and put fresh apples in it"(me making my post saying that the list sucks).



Bob goes insane, and starts saying that Joe is always negative, and that even though we all like apples, it would just be too much work to buy new ones and get a new bowl to put them in (invisigods first post in this thread).



Larry jumps into the conversation, and says "Listen, Joe, we're constantly buying new apples to put in the bowl, but see, the problem with these new apples is that they're too ripe! No one likes over-ripe apples! We need to wait awhile to put them in the apple bowl!" (raidens post)
