The mods will know who I am from my IP, I would hope they would keep that to themselves. I'm not looking to start a flame war, Personally I am sick of it.



There is so many flames flying around, it reminds me of the fires that ravaged North America in 04 both sides of the border. I have stepped out for an objective look, and thought this has got to stop. all we are doing is ruining a great forum with garbage, new people see this, and think we all a bunch of idiots.



I think if there is this much creative juice flying in flames, why not put that energy to a good use, instead of the garbage. How about design equipment, and areas, and ideas to make Majormud as a whole a better place, regardless of the board you play on. Take the bullcrap that is being slung about, and put it towards a collective pot of ideas. Everyone has a talent for doing something useful and unique. Yes even you DragonDawn! So lets chill with the flames, and the crap and get back to using MMB for what it was intended for, making Majormud a truely awsome resource. Now I saw a post that needs to be addressed.

Are we so caught up in the garbage we've been tossing around, that we forgot the major thing that brings us together. Majormud, we're all editors, and creators, mudops & sysops alike. So lets stop the crap, and get back to the GAME. Lets make it something that Lance would be truely proud of.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. There are many members in the MMB community that struggle with various issues, and many of them have become hotheads rather then focusing their energies in other areas.

The Majormud community has always had struggles with unity. The main reason for this is that as human beings we all have our different opinions of how things should be made, operated, or enforced. Hell, even the creators and current coders for Majormud have incredible disagreements (among other things, such as laziness), which slows down their release dates for the modules that they create.

The answer to that is of course, yes. Within MMB there are people who hold many unbreakable grudges against past users for acts of stupidty, anger, or the like, as kindly demonstrated lately between Shaddow, Dragondawn, Erek, and Syntax, among others. Even though alot of these grudges have validity to them, as adults I would hope that most of them would be able to resolve them in better ways then flame wars... Of course I'm not perfect either, since I have began threads in the Hall of Flamers myself. Not much can be done unless alot of these grudges are cleared up and board owners/editors are able to finally agree to get along and attempt to accomplish something. That's one of the reasons that Big Bird and Syntax were able to create such masterpieces that they did, because they sat down and agreed to do it.



The well-known names in the MMB community such as Lunar Dynamics Online, Sinister Urge, OMC, Boink Machine, and Morbid were able to accomplish what they did, because they were able to confer with each other on various topics. Giving suggestions, receiving feedback, and generally being able to cooperate with each other so that they were able to assist in advancing each other's boards.



Now I definitely apologize if I left anyone out of that list, since MANY new boards have come and gone in the past 2-3 years, but those are the ones that have stood out, and put forth an effort to be noticed and respected in what we call this 'community'.



Personally, I wish that all board owners were able to cooperate with each other, since the Majormud community could only benefit and grow from it... But like I noted in my post in the mods thread... Not many board owners are willing to release their work publicly, since they have ownership to what they have created. They strive to have something unique, and when they release their works, it no longer is 'their' creation, but others as well.



There truly is a creative energy within the editing community, and if that could be harnessed, many worthwhile things would be accomplished.



I, myself am not willing to release all of what I have created on my board, but I am willing to contribute bits and pieces, and give help or information when needed.



Hopefully times will change, but I highly doubt that, seeing the current state of mind of alot of the users on this forum.



Thanks to Syntax, Big Bird, Demosthenes, Ray, and Invisigod for the efforts and work that they have given to users throughout the forums, because of their willingness to help, many boards have made solid foundations on which to create a rather nice following and user base.



We'll see which way the cookie crumbles I suppose, eh?
