I have an old word document.

I have brute force crackers on it.





I need a way to get into this document that won't take 17 years....

There's surly a way to do it w/ a hex editor or any other way other then brute'n...

did you search google? i just searched for "word 2000 password crack" and there are a whole slew of cracking programs. this one jumped out at me and says it found and decoded the passwords in my test document, but it doesn't tell you unless it is registered, which you may be able to get around ...... http://www.elcomsoft.com/aopr.html?refprod=aw2000pr i'm not gonna deal with searching all the results but i'm sure you can find one free program in the 406,000 results that query produces.

syn, i am running a registered copy of aw2000pr right now - its on its 2nd day of running. It will take me YEARS to finish (it never found any test passwords w/o brute forcing)...





Maybe someone should tell me to search yahoo or excite.com (here's an oldie - hotbot.com)

use john the ripper

JTR is good for passing unix passwords.. :) I use it all the time when I get a password file to porn sites that I need to crack.
