everyone should check out The Mars Volta.
i think they are the best band around today.

I quite like the mars volta...not the BEST band out there...but really good none the less.

My boyfriend just started listening to a Finnish band, Sonata Arctica. They sound like a harder 80's band. I even started to like it.
