Spellcasters Upgrade

Domosthenes and I have painstakenly gone through every spell and tried to balance them out better for edited BBS's that have boosted the CP maxes. Spellcasters don't get any damage increases from these stats as all the combat classes do. Plus, they've been increasingly becoming underdogs in the combat department anyway. We also fixed a lot of the remove spells and things like blessed vision not working properly. We have implemented this tonight on Morbid. It will be released to public when I get the exports together and we know everything is working.

bardic and kai are primarily combat enhancement spells, and imo they work just fine already. many boards do choose to add other bardic classes, but that's something you'll have to do individually if you want to diversify their spells. as far as power goes, i don't see why kai/bardic blesses need upgrading, and upgrading their damage spells would be rather pointless.

shrug i just thought that maybe you could increase some of the songs in the way protection spells for mages have changed. no need to change the stat enhancement spells but for example song of evasion is maxed at 30 rounds with a max dodge bonus of 10.. this is a level 24 spell where blur for a mage a level 1 spell is now dodge +15 max for 70 rounds..

iirc evasion also gives ac and dr, and bards also get enhanced dodge from eq (loads of bard-only +dodge eq, like shimmering sash etc) and their stat enhancement spells, so i don't really see how they're suffering... whereas, if you're considering the bonus gypsies/warlocks get from enhanced blur, but not mages, the warlock's bonus is mainly negated by their armor and gypsies get rather screwed anyway in legit. i've played a fully legit bard up to 50, and never had any problems with it really, especially for parties... even solo they work quite well once they can upkeep their blesses.

what about giving bards an upgrade on the song of life or adding a song of healing to give them some beter hp regen in the lower levels, it just sucks cause most magical classes can heal hp's and go back to fighting, bards still have to do alot of resting cause you get to low hp's cause of the low ac, but your usually to heavy to do some good dodging.

shrug, why not give mages and witchies a few healing spells while you're at it.

dude mages have had many spells updated, have u looked at the upgrades on morbid? shimmering mirage lasts 100 rounds, blur for 70... bards have evas, a spell much worse than mage ac spells that last for 30.. in theory a mage is going to be dodging at nearly mystic levels with ac to rival chainmail wearers... not to mention the increase in damage they do... we got a level 30 mage casting simp for over 500.... so the mage protection spells etc have all been ubered up..

i dont think its fair to have a mage in robes with better ac and dodge than a combat class..

shrug im happy to have bard spells lengths increased even.. but an increase in lvl caps wouldnt huurt either just to stay par with other classes..
