Reclaim item on DOS board at monster hard to get to

Well we've sallied forth over and over, and keep getting our butts kicked.
Since there are only two skirts of flame, it would be nice to get the one back that is being guarded by Mr. Big Boss. Is it possible on a DOS board to somehow edit an item out of a room and have it go back onto the boss that drops it? Would be much easier to go to the twins and reclaim said item.
