portal is just like a script that accompanies a forum. instead of it being just a forum, it could be like a download center, news center, e-mail center, game center, etc.



portals are like php nuke...

easy example of Portal is www.lunardynamics.com/forums/index.php we run portal, its exactly what the name implies.
