Remote Access 2.1, I was just rescently asked how to setup and configure RA, well I haven't realy ever used it, "I have a cheap POS router that doesn't like any setup to allow ports to be opened, so using RA isn't an option for me."
So can someone give basics on setup and configuring RA for dummies (grin :D )

i'm confused. why did you put that sentance in quotes? and if "RA isn't an option for you" then why are you asking for help using it? it sounds to me like you want something like TightVNC (http://www.tightvnc.com/) or pcAnywhere (http://www.symantec.com) ... though neither of which you can use without forwarding ports.

Sorry the dummie in me left stuff out of my question. I want to be able to pass the information onto a friend of mine, who is trying to setup RA server on his machine at home, and RA client at work. (or however that works)
with my cheap router, every time I try to open my ports up, it crashes it, and I have to completly reset the router back to default, and set everything back up again. royally a pain in the ass. But in a couple of weeks it's being replaced with a Lynksys.
PCAnywere isn't anywhere at all, it's a cute joke, but not designed for anything that remotely resembles anything useful (personal opinion).

Regardless of my router
