ok me and my editing buddy have been passing dats back and forth for some time now, but we lost touch for about a month i finnaly got ahold of him and he gave me my dats back. with alot of edits more than i thought he would have done, well the problem is that while i we were out of contact i added new rooms and items, well so did he. now i dont know if im just over reacting but me and him used some of the same room numbers and item numbers. what i want to know is if i merge both dats will the ones with the same # get over writen or will they just not merge?

ps if i am confusing im sorry i have had a rlly bad day and am not in the best of moods soory for grammer and spelling

thanks for the help

bow

If you use NMR to import this other guy's dats into yours, then yes, any items/rooms etc...with the same numbers, will overwrite yours. I don't know of any way to avoid this besides taking the time to input them manually into your dats...maybe someone else has a better solution, but thats all I have to say... g'luck =)

you can hit preview on the the importer and see what records would be overwritten. i have a record number changer in the works that will allow you to change record numbers in an export file and search and change all references too.
