I am wondering..what kind of bike could I get for $2000, or for $4000 or for $6000...is it that big of a difference? I know I want a sport bike. How much would it cost to get a helmet and other protective gear needed? I was looking at a '97-'98 Hondra CBR...

Look in the paper you can get a good deal on sport bikes in the paper, you could prolly get a couple year old 600cbr for under 6k!
